The successful candidate will report to the Miner. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.Job description The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:Execution of effective drilling and development to ensure daily production targets are metEffective planning, organizing, leading and control within area of responsibilityEffective supervision of drill rig operators to ensure adherence to work scheduleBe alert and proactive in identifying and communicating equipment deficienciesMonitor and report on consumables used (bits, rods in R/m and shank and coupling usageEffective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's valuesCompliance with SHEQ, MRC and Client standards, policies and procedure Minimum requirements Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalentDrill Rig Operator CertificateLoad Haul Dumper and Dump Truck operating license (advantageous)Valid EB Driver's LicenseBlasting Certificate (advantageous)Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness to work undergroundGood English verbal and written communication skillsEffective supervisory, job planning and numeracy skillsOperation of drill in all aspectsInstallation of support, splitsets, mesh and resin boltsDrilling long anchorsMaking safe by barring/scaling with a rig and limiting damage to boomsDrilling of various blast rounds with minimal overbreakComputer literate, ability to complete online trainingSuitable candidates must have the following work experience:At least 4 years drilling experience on a trackless mining operationExperience operating a Twin Boom Drill Rig with split feeds, drilling the development face in various ways, installing weld mesh and split sets, drilling long anchors and drilling and installing quick-chem resin bolts with the same machineExperience in operating Dump Trucks and Load Haul DumpersExtensive working experience in decline shaft development as a Drill MasterExperience in training Drill Operators and monitoring their performanceProven track record of production achievementsPreference will be given to candidates with mechanised bolting experienceGood knowledge and experience of mechanised mining operationsProven track record of production achievementsAll appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.DisclaimerThe Recruiter may amend, delete or expire jobs at any time without notification.Murray & Roberts reserves the right not to proceed with filling the position.An application will not in itself entitle the applicant to an interview.If you do not receive any feedback on your application within 4 weeks from the closing date, please consider your
