Job Description

Safe driving:

Operating a Code 14 truck with utmost care, following all traffic laws and safety procedures.

Loading and unloading:

Securely loading and unloading cargo at designated delivery points, ensuring proper handling of goods.

Route planning:

Following assigned routes efficiently, considering traffic conditions and delivery schedules.

Vehicle inspection:

Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues and report them promptly.

Documentation:

Maintaining accurate paperwork including delivery receipts, logbooks, and other required documentation.

Compliance:

Adhering to all relevant transport regulations, including load limits and working hours.

Communication:

Maintaining clear communication with dispatchers, clients, and other stakeholders regarding delivery updates and any potential issues.

Essential qualifications for a Code 14 Driver:

Valid Code 14 driver's license:

Mandatory requirement to operate a heavy-duty truck with a trailer.

Public Driver's Permit (PDP):

Necessary for professional driving within South Africa.

Mandatory Experience:

Minimum 10 years' experience driving large trucks, with a minimum of 5 years abnormal / super link

Good driving record:

Clean driving history with minimal traffic violations.

Physical fitness:

Ability to handle the physical demands of loading, unloading, and prolonged driving periods.

Basic mechanical knowledge:

Understanding of basic vehicle maintenance checks.

Potential work environments for Code 14 Drivers:

Freight companies, Logistics providers, Construction companies, Manufacturing industries, and Waste management companies. Cleaning of trucks, inside and outside Only use the company vehicle for company related purpose. Do not transport any item, person or article which is not for company related purposes. Unless requested by management with reasonable instructions. Must adhere to Zero Tolerance Policy Must adhere to Workplace Harassment Policy
