We foster a dynamic and innovative learning environment and are committed to maintaining state-of-the-art facilities across our campuses.Reporting to: Facilities ManagerJob Summary:Belgium Campus iTversity is seeking a reliable and versatile Driver & Maintenance Support Assistant to join our team in Akasia, Pretoria North. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services, as well as offering practical, hands-on support for various campus operations and events. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to handle a range of tasks with flexibility and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Driving & Transportation:

  • Safely and efficiently transport materials as required.
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, ensuring regular servicing and adherence to safety standards.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely delivery and pick-up.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of goods and equipment.
Hands-on Support:
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of campus events, including conferences, Open Days, workshops, and student activities.
  • Provide logistical support for events, such as moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks around the campus, including minor repairs and upkeep.
  • Assist with the delivery and distribution of internal mail and packages.
  • Provide general assistance to staff and students as needed.
  • Assist with general campus maintenance.
General:
  • Always maintain a professional and courteous demeanour.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
  • Adhere to all campus policies and procedures.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for events and activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Valid South African drivers license (Code B or higher).
  • Proven driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent knowledge of Pretoria and surrounding areas.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Basic maintenance and handyman skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, punctual, and responsible.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic IT knowledge is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous.
