Job AdvertDuties & Responsibilities

• Transporting of general waste and sanitation goods.

Vehicle Operation:

• Safely operate a Code 10 (heavy-duty) vehicle, including refuse trucks, vacuum tankers, or waste collection vehicles.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and compliant with safety regulations.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies while driving.

Waste Collection and Transportation:

• Collect and transport refuse, recyclable materials, or hazardous waste from designated locations.
• Ensure proper loading and offloading of waste at disposal sites, landfills, or recycling centres.
• Follow scheduled routes and complete collections in a timely manner.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to waste management.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty.
• Report any safety hazards, vehicle malfunctions, or accidents to management immediately.

Customer Service:

• Interact professionally with clients, the public, and team members.
• Address customer concerns regarding waste collection and disposal services.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of daily routes, fuel consumption, and waste collection.
• Complete logbooks, checklists, and incident reports as required.

General Maintenance & Housekeeping:

• Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and cleaning to ensure proper functionality.
• Keep waste collection areas and vehicles clean and organized.

Teamwork & Assistance:

• Work closely with waste collectors, loaders, and supervisors to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide assistance with manual waste collection when needed.
• Valid Code 10 (C1) drivers license
• Previous experience in waste management or sanitation (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.
• Physical fitness and ability to handle waste collection tasks.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience & Qualification

• Must have Matric (Grade 12)
• Valid code 10 with PDP
• 3 to 5 Years Experience in driving a truck
• Sasol Induction will be an advantage
• Police clearance (SAPS) will be an advantage
