Job Description


Job PurposeTo ensure route planning on DCT is done optimally. To ensure efficient utilization of the fleet. To maintain the customer database on TOMS and PRIDE. To ensure that all GPS units are loaded on a daily basis according to the planned schedule on DCT. To ensure smooth operation of the transport department. To lead the transport department in making sure our clients receive great service and their products in a good state. To Lead with passion and by example of a Can-do attitude and doing things Right the first time.:

  • Equipment care to ensure GPS units are kept in good working order
  • Maintain a excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • To plan and book services for entire fleet as prescribed by the manufacturer (according to the service schedule)
  • Check STANFLEET diesel report daily and report on any irregularities
  • High risk routes identified and sent to relevant parties daily once routing is completed
  • Monitor performance of team members
  • Report any breaches of Health & Safety regulations and incidents/accidents
  • Communicate work practices, procedures and methods to team members, as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Conduct training for new team members as required
  • Conduct team communication sessions (team briefs)
  • Daily escort request report
  • Report discrepancies to Operations Lead /DC Manager / General Manager
  • Weekly transport department overtime reporting
  • Insurance claim forms completed & filled
  • Locking of movements post trip on One Network System.
  • Maintain co-operation with dispatch to ensure correct information is gathered for reporting purposes
  • Daily kilometers sheet for service purposes
  • Maintain monthly fleet survey done by different service providers.
  • Perform administrative tasks in line with the Standard Operating Procedures and safe working practices
  • Supervise De-briefing of drivers on return from deliveries
  • Achievement of operational performance as defined by customer contract and KPI's
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Resolution of queries to delivery claims and movement numbers (POD)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and Communication Skills with Employees and Reporting Manager
  • Working in a team environment/ Team Player
  • Geo-coding of new outlets from GPS
  • Ensure all reports and schedules are available and up to date at all times
  • Maintain monthly fleet survey done by different service providers.
  • Daily kilometers sheet for service purposes
  • Monitor that Telegrams sent for AWOL to staff / Attend Disciplinary Hearing
  • Locking of movements post trip on One Network System.
Job Requirements:Matric / Grade 12 CertificateA qualification in Road Transport and Logistics (Desirable) 3 - 5 years experience in a Warehousing Environment
1 - 3 years experience in a similar role
Computer literate
Good communication skills verbal and written
