RESPONSIBILITIESDTP:

• Receives brief from client via Intergrator.
• Sets up artwork as per briefing specs.
• Ensures all images, spreads and bleeds are applied as per machine requirements.
• Discusses and determines detailed DTP job requirements with Repro or Technical Team.
• Ensures all content and information is correct before starting a job.
• Produces and checks proofs against required specs before handing over to clients'.
• Completes corrections, until client satisfaction.
• Electronically checks colour separations and overprint.
• Analyses, identifies and advises technical team or repro supervisor of potential print problems.
• Good customer service.

Computer Maintenance and Housekeeping

• Maintains efficient back up procedures of all jobs.
• Creates working folders within the server.
• Ensures artwork in server as per repro number.
• Maintains system performance and integrity.
• Prioritizes work within the department based on Repro plan.
• Achieves daily output as per plan.

REQUIREMENTS:Qualification

• A tertiary qualification in DTP and/or 2-3 years relevant experience in DTP Design / Repro, and a sound knowledge of the printing industry.

Knowledge Skills and Attributes:

• Understanding of desk-top publishing skills and techniques, and skills in media, techniques and technology used for printing.
• Knowledge of multiple operating software packages.

Computer Skill

• Must know Adobe InDesign CS6, Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6 and Acrobat.
• Working on Macintosh platform.
• Knowledge of Intergrator Workflow would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of print and production would be an advantage.

Writing/Communication Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.

SKILLS

• Understand and setup artwork as per technical specifications and client requirements.
• Correct usage of in house software packages - Intergrator
• Using a variety of fonts, images, colours - 300dpi, CMYK and spots.
• Reviewing and amending images - Product proportions, working with FPO files, hires images and shutterstock images.
• Skills in using Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
• Outputting files according to technical specifications, using various software packages.
• Multi-task and work under pressure.
• Self-starter, self-motivated team player and well organised.
• Work in a team environment.
• Communication skills.
• Reliable, 'Can do' attitude.
• Good relationship-building skills.
• Work with multiple projects under strict deadlines.
