Job Description

This position will specifically be for a field service mechanic to be placed in either the DRC or in Mozambique to do field service work. Currently the cycle for cross border work is scheduled as 4 weeks cross border and 1 week in South Africa.
The responsibilities and duties are not limited to the above and may be as directed and/or assigned by your superior from time to time.

Perform skilled mechanical work, analysing and diagnosing problems on earth moving equipment.

Inspecting and/or repairing defective parts and performing preventative maintenance.
- Strict adherence to safe work practices.
- Strict adherence to the guidelines provided in the software applicable to the specific earth moving equipment machine.
- Fault-finding of earthmoving equipment.
- Repair and Service of Earth moving equipment to Standard.
- Signing of work and compiling of relevant field services documents.
- Comply to customer requirements
- Maintain up to date Site Report for all components and work to be done.
- Liaise with Customer regarding operational problems in final commissions
- Compile field service report
- Keep tools, equipment and work area clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Must employ independent judgment and resourcefulness in performing mechanical repair work especially when repairs are made in the field.
- Prompt, timely, effective communication to management regarding problems with installation equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on equipment.
- Maintain service logs and records of maintenance on equipment.
- Prepare and complete work orders and other pertinent paperwork.

Locate parts and equipment needed for repairs and maintenance.

Assist with cleaning and assembling of equipment.
- Ownership for all measuring, inspection and test equipment and tools.
- Assist and support Customer in problem solving of components and operational issuesEssential Requirements:
Accredited Earth Moving Equipment Mechanic accredited in accordance with the standards by the National Skills Authority (Red Seal Accreditation)
Additional qualifications as a quality controller will be a huge advantage
Ability to perform under pressure and willingness to work extended hours
Experience in the relevant field
Conscientious attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
Administrative efficient
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas
High level of organisation
Good interpersonal skills
Computer literate, specifically the basic software for machinery
