It is our mission to further the University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide.Education Support Consultant: Cape Town(Permanent Position)Oxford University Press International School Sales department is recruiting for a dynamic and results-orientated Education Support Consultant who will be responsible for supporting a wide range of customers serviced by OUP.The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the Regional Managers, School Relationship Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Professional Development and Marketing to ensure that OUP can maximise its reach servicing its customers.The Education Support Consultant will report to the Education Support Consultant Manager. This post is hybrid, based in Cape Town.Principal Accountabilities:Territory Performance and Marketing Strategy:

  • Responsible for meeting performance targets through driving promotional activity for OUPs Education products & services in defined regions.Work with Regional Managers, School Relationship Managers PD and Marketing to maintain a high standard of support for customers.
  • Drive marketing activity in each territory - the broad focus of the team will be on responding to inbound enquiries and discovery of new business leads.
  • The role will also support the execution of regional marketing.
Customer relationship management:
  • Will work with a defined list of resources, with the objective of identifying product opportunities and establishing new contacts and customer relationships.
  • Will support Regional Managers and School Relationship Managers in ensuring opportunities are effectively handled.
Solution-based marketing:
  • Using solution-led marketing techniques to understand customer needs and propose appropriate OUP resources. Maintains a broad product focus and understanding of resources & services.
  • It is envisaged that most conversations can be conducted remotely, enabled by use of platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
Data and CRM:
  • Works with Head of International School Sales and Regional Managers to ensure quality and accuracy of CRM database and pipeline for assigned customers. Coordinates activities with Marketing and PD to ensure effective use of data and follow up on leads generated.
Representing OUP across the International landscape, furthering OUPs global mission, and operating OUP International School business with the highest standards of professional and ethical business practices, in line with OUPs values and Code of Conduct.Qualifications and Experience:
  • Relevant National Diploma or Degree, ideally in Sales, Marketing or Education.
  • Experience in a customer facing role, preferably in education / sales.
  • An understanding of decision-making process/criteria and effective promotional techniques, ideally within the education sector.
  • The ability to manage a large number of contacts using effective planning and time management skills.
  • The ability to target key stakeholders and build relationships with decision makers.
  • Competent presentation skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with sound customer service mentality; able to work in multi-cultural environment.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task on a daily basis, able to adjust to shifting priorities and with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure, demonstrated time management skills and able to deliver results to agreed timelines.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and positive style that fosters collaborative working relationships.
  • Good IT and administrative skills, including CRM (ideally Salesforce).
