Christel House South Africa is a non-profit school which provides no-fee scholarships to students from some of Cape Town's most under-resourced neighbourhoods and supports them for 19 years (Grade RR to Grade 12 and five years post-matric) through character-based and career-focused education. The Position

: We are seeking an innovative Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) and Technology Educator with a passion for shaping young minds and a commitment to academic and technical excellence. The ideal candidate will be a custodian of design thinking and applied technology, eager to equip students with critical skills in engineering graphics, problem-solving, and real-world application. This pivotal role is suited for an educator who embraces a rigorous, CAPS-aligned curriculum, integrates digital tools into teaching, and inspires creativity, collaboration, and higher-order thinking in every learning experience.

Key Resonsibilities:

Reporting to the High School Principal, the Educator will be responsible for:

1.Develop and deliver engaging lessons for FET EGD and GET Technology aligned with the CHSA Learning Ecosystem.

2.Provide an effective classroom environment that supports meaningful student learning and development.

3.Lead or support co-curricular Student Life initiatives to promote student agency, engagement, and holistic growth across the student body.

4.Integrating technology to enhance curriculum delivery and stimulate interactive learning.

5.Staying abreast with the latest teaching strategies, incorporating innovative approaches and educational resources.

Key Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (preferred).

2. Registration with SACE, upholding its professional standards and ethical guidelines.

3. Strong knowledge of EGD and Technology curricula (CAPS-aligned).

4.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5.Passion for working with students from socio-economically disadvantage communities.

6.Competence in facilitating higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning.

7. Applicants must be willing to obtain the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) certification within six months of appointment and maintain active status as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE).
