We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Lecturer in Sound Engineering/Studio Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing our studio and gear house while also delivering engaging lectures and facilitating modules for our Diploma in Sound Engineering program.
As a lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in fostering student learning by employing interactive teaching methods that encourage student participation and enhance the overall learning experience. Your responsibilities will include promoting student success through initiatives aimed at improving retention and throughput rates. Additionally, you will need to stay updated with the latest developments in the field to ensure the quality and relevance of the content delivered to students.
Requirements:
A relevant qualification in Sound Engineering or related field, meeting regulatory standards, with at least a degree for higher education programs.
A post-graduate qualification is advantageous and required for lecturers teaching at the degree level.
A demonstrable teaching portfolio showcasing student support and success.
A minimum of 1 year of lecturing experience is required, preferably with 3 or more years of experience.
Possession of specialist knowledge and technical skills in the subject discipline to develop teaching programs and materials, as well as provide learning support.
Active participation in professional academic development, including staying informed about regulatory requirements, quality standards, and institutional policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate modules including Music 1, Music 2, MIDI 1, and MIDI 2.
Manage the studio and gear house effectively.
Conduct assessments and provide student support as needed.
Flexibility to work outside normal office hours, if required, to manage studio bookings effectively.
