We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to lead our Faculty of IT and Commerce ,situated in the vibrant community of Randburg, South Africa. As the Head of Faculty, you will be instrumental in driving innovation, academic excellence, and industry relevance in the fields of Information Technology and Commerce.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Faculty of IT and Commerce, overseeing both academic and administrative functions.
Develop and implement cutting-edge academic programs in Information Technology and Commerce that address the evolving needs of the industry and society.
Foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the Faculty.
Lead efforts to enhance student learning experiences and promote student success in IT and Commerce programs.
Forge partnerships with industry, government, and other stakeholders to facilitate experiential learning, internships, and research opportunities for students.
Mentor and support faculty members in their professional development, encouraging research, scholarship, and effective teaching practices.
Lead faculty recruitment, retention, and evaluation processes, ensuring a diverse and talented team.
Manage the Faculty's budget and resources effectively, allocating resources to support strategic priorities and initiatives.
Represent the Faculty within the institution and in external forums, advocating for its interests and promoting its reputation.
Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in Information Technology, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Proven leadership experience in academic administration, preferably at the level of department chair or higher.
A strong record of scholarly achievement and teaching excellence in Information Technology, Commerce, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative academic programs and initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in building partnerships with industry, government, and professional organizations to enhance the relevance and impact of academic programs.
Familiarity with accreditation processes and quality assurance standards in higher education.
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a track record of promoting diversity and fostering inclusive learning environments.
Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in Information Technology and Commerce, and an understanding of their implications for higher education.
