Responsibilities:What wexe2x80x99re looking forWe are looking for an EHS Manager xe2x80x93 Bakeries North to join our dynamic team. The role is physically located at Cape Town HQ (Paarl) and will be reporting to the EHS Director. The purpose of this role is to drive the Environmental Health & Safety performance in terms of culture, EHS standards and compliance across all functions within the assigned division in addition to leading the implementation of EHS systems & programs within the assigned plants within the Grains and Fruit Division: SouthThe successful candidate will also be responsible for the following:

  • Lead a team of site EHS Managers, Specialist and/or Coordinators to fully implement PepsiCo EHS Standards across all Plants within the assigned region.
  • Attend Bi-weekly EHS and SC Management meetings to address critical areas of EHS performance and drive resolution of action plans.
  • Develop & ensure implementation of all the required EHS compliance procedures, work instructions & policies across the assigned region
  • Lead roll-out of PepsiCo EHS Best Practices across regional functions
  • Lead regional EHS Continuous Improvement versus PepsiCo set of KPIs through conduct performance reviews with EHS management & cross functional management to ensure performance as per AOP targets
  • Define & implement EHS planned EHS Inspections across all the EHS levels on regular intervals & report findings on myEHS
  • Lead the implementation of PepsiCo Behavior Based Safety program across all region functions
  • Lead EHS compliance through regular internal audits and ensuring action plans are monitored & effective corrective actions are implemented
  • Work closely with CU Management ensure consistent financial performance versus AOP plan
  • Ensure all assigned sites are complying with PepsiCo GEHSMS, ISO 45001, & ISO 14001 international standards.
  • Lead the improvement the FM Global Risk Mark score of each site within the assigned region
  • Ensure deployment of annual EHS training plan across region training in liaison with the EHS training department to achieve the annual organization training plans
  • Report all EHS KPIs monthly on PepsiCo's MyEHS system for the region & ensure reporting of all incidents & NMs according to PepsiCo EHS incidents reporting standard.
  • Effectively facilitate the PepsiCo Multi-certification audit program through external audit team - ERM
Qualifications:What will qualify you for the role
  • At least 5 Years experience within similar FMCG operations
  • 3 years in a Regional Manager role
  • A 3 year Diploma in Environmental Health or related field/Safety /Machine Safety qualification/Engineering qualification added bonus
  • Experience in Grains is preferred
Proven experience in dealing with:
  • Regulatory Body for Occupational Health & Safety in the case of injuries or audits
  • Regulatory Body for Environmental Affairs in the case of events or audits
  • Local Police Dept in the case of road related accidents
  • System & Compliance Audits
  • Service Providers & Contractors within the region
  • Onsite OH Clinic Services
  • Risk of dust explosions risks
  • Machine Safety risks
