• SHEQ
• Drive closure of non-conformances, corrective and preventative actions identified through risk assessments, audits etc
• Implement and execute group strategy at site level
• Provide input into the SHE budget and spend for the site
• Assist site management in the development and tracking of the SHEQ objectives and targets
• Drive Process Safety Implementation for the site

• Compliance
• Assist Front end Sale when Umbog site audits or inspection are required by customers
• Influence business leadership on SHE matters
• Ensure that the AECI SHEQ risk Management process are followed
• Implement, Monitor and improve critical controls to improve site risk exposure
• Provide assurance on SHE workplace and legal compliance
• Participate in internal and external audits for the site (e.g. ISO 45001, PSM, SANS 1827/8, ISO 9001, legal compliance and 14001)
• Monitoring and reporting Site EHS performance on regular basis
• Plan and monitor EHS training for site personnel
• Ensure that Licence conditions are adhered to at all times
• Ensure that Annual reports are completed and submitted to authorities as per the licence conditions
• Conduct Supplier audits
• Implement Responsible care for the site

• SHEQ Process/procedures
• Ensuring that risk studies are conducted prior to approval of MoCs
• Develop, maintain SHE site procedures
• Ensure that AECI EHS standards are implemented on site

• Collaboration with Operations and engineering
• Fosters teamwork and collaboration between functions
• Influencing and coaching on SHEQ matters

• 4 Year Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma (safety, environmental, engineering or equivalent)
• Professional Registration / Membership advantage
• 5 - 8 Years experience in Chemical manfucturing plant with EHS background
• Risk Management Knowledge
• Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
• SHE Systems Evaluation and integration
• SHE Legal knowledge
• Influencing and coaching skills
• Data analysis, interpretation and recommendations
• Engagement and interpersonal communication
