Job Title: Electrical Chargehand - Mining IndustryLocation: Mpumalanga, South AfricaRPO Recruitment's client is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Chargehand to join their team in the mining industry in Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the electrical maintenance and repair work in the mining operations.Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of electricians in carrying out electrical maintenance and repair work on mining equipment and facilities
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures in the electrical department
• Plan and schedule maintenance work to minimize downtime and optimize productivity
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and recommend solutions to prevent future problems
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance work and ensure proper documentation
• Assist in developing and implementing electrical maintenance programs to maximize equipment lifespan and efficiency
• Train and mentor junior electricians to enhance their skills and knowledge

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• N6 or National Diploma in Engineering
• Electrical Trade Test Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Flame proof and Gas testing
• Medium Voltage Certificate would be advantageous
• At least 3 years' experience working in a Coal Mine on the following machines: 12HM31 JNAII, feeder breaker, Shuttle car & Fletcher roof bolters, switch gear, EMIS belt Drivers, 6,6KV & 22KV switching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Valid driver's license
