  • BSc (Electrical Engineering) PrEng/10 and above years experience in High Voltage Substation with particular emphasis on Secondary Plant Design and Engineering (Protection, Substation Automation, Telecomms, SCADA and Metering)
Minimum Requirements:
  • You will have completed a Degree in electrical Engineering (BSEE Preferred) with at least 10 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering including design, design review and commissioning in the electrical engineering field.
  • Ability to manage the work per work quality standard and
  • Ability to work with multi culture of EPCs and off
  • Problem solving capabilities
  • Experience in leading and guiding technical employees needed
  • A clear criminal /credit record and contactable references are essential
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the development, Ddesign, develop, and testing of renewable power and energy storage system projects including associated electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors and navigation systems, and electrical systems
  • Lead and conduct the conceptual and detailed designs of HV voltage substation secondary plant. This shall include compiling of the functional design specifications related to the protection and substation automation/SCADA and the integration design to the Utility
  • Lead and witness the factory acceptance testing of protection schemes, metering schemes, telecoms schemes and substation automation systems.
  • Lead and monitor in the site installation work related to protection schemes, metering schemes, telecoms schemes and substation automation This includes all related power and control cable scheduling and installation.
  • Lead and witness the site acceptance testing of protection schemes, metering schemes, telecoms schemes and substation automation systems.
  • Author competent technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational
  • Oversee the manufacture of these devices, systems, and
  • Familiarize with general substation system process, electrical design, application for approval by client company, technical disclosure and control of construction process, basic understanding of electrochemical energy storage power station, and familiar with the structure and basic electrical principle of energy storage systems.
  • Understand the local practice of technical document design and drawing in South Africa and facilitate the local conversion of drawings designed by abroad company.
  • Cooperate with the design department and chief engineer to complete technical supervision and acceptance during project implementation.
  • Communicate with customers, including answering technical questions, explaining technical points and providing expert advice.
  • Share and exchange experience/standard/technical information with other colleagues
