The role:IHC SA is currently seeking to secure the services of an Electrical Engineer. The Electrical Engineerxe2x80x99s primary responsibility is to lead a team of engineers and technicians to affect the develop and implementation of engineering requirements in order to deliver the required project outcome, other deliverables and achieve Client satisfaction. • Manage and coach less experienced engineers and technicians;
• Carry out and/or oversee the development of specifications and reports including design basis documents, functional specifications and design reports;
• Carry out calculations and/or analysis;
• Carry out and participate in concept identification, development and trade-off processes.
• Carry out and/or oversee design activities;
• Carry out and/or oversee the detail design process
• Provide engineering support and assistance to the project team throughout project life cycle;
• Ensure the quality of design and compliance with national, international and client specific standards for safety and electrical engineering.
• Manage project design team and give input and provide feedback/support where necessary;
• Ensure compliance with the configuration management system;
• Provide input to and assist the Project Engineering Manager in the development of engineering procedures and specifications and ensure adherence to these policies, procedures and standards;
• Assist all departments with compilation of tenders / quotations when required; and
• Ensure required electrical work packages are compiled for successful execution of the project.

Job requirements - Qualifications & Competencies:To be eligible for this role, you must have/be/be able to:

• B. Tech / B. Sc / B. Eng degree in Electrical Engineering;
• Registered as Professional Engineer with ECSA;
• Knowledge base and experience within the Mining, Oil and Gas, Mineral Processing or Heavy Engineering sectors;
• 5-8 years relevant electrical design experience;
• Sufficient cross- disciplinary knowledge to allow to lead subsystem discussions and assess competing solutions;
• Capacity to evaluate work practices, implement systems and suggest alternatives/refinements where necessary;
• Attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence;
• Proven verbal and written communication skills;
• Good organisational skills;
• Ability to perform under pressure;
• Ability to provide technical leadership & line management for a small team;
• Willingness to work demanding schedule and flexible hours, including after hours, in order to meet required schedule;
• Willingness to travel;
• Disciplined xe2x80x93 work with limited supervision;
• Self-motivated, organized and results driven;
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, MS Project.);
• Computer Aided Design literacy xe2x80x93 AutoCAD, E-Plan etc; and
• Own transportation.
