Electrical Engineer / Technologist
Job Description
Our well-known international client, based in Paarl is looking for an Electrical Engineer / Technologist to join their team. You will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and management of renewable energy projects. This position requires a proven track record in system design, project execution, and executing the sign-off of renewable energy systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 - 5 years' experience.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
System Design: Develop technical designs for electrical projects and renewable energy systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices
Quotations & Proposals: Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals for clients
Project Management: Oversee the execution of renewable energy projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality control
Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation process, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety regulations
System Sign-Off: Conduct final system inspections, testing, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with local regulations
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution
Qualifications:
Matric
Bachelor's degree - B.Eng / B.Sc / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Preferred registration as Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or a candidate engineer (ECSA- Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech)
Minimum 4 - 5 years' experience in renewable energy system design and project management
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, and hybrid energy systems
Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with local electrical regulations, safety standards, and certification requirements
Software Proficiency: Experience with electrical design software, 2D/3D CAD, Helioscope, or similar tools)
Additional Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills
Self-starter and the ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment
