Electrical Engineering Technician

Job Description
An electrical engineer technician often works in product development, evaluation, and testing while using specific measuring tools and diagnostic knowledge to test and repair equipment. Electrical engineering technicians work closely with electrical engineers to test and modify operational electrical machinery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical circuits; Simulation of the electrical circuit according to specification Inspect designs for quality control, report findings, and make recommendations. Draw diagrams and write specifications to clarify design details of experimental electronics units. Install and maintain electrical control systems and equipment, and modify electrical prototypes according to engineering data, parts, and assemblies to correct problems Read electrical system design plans and recommend improvements Calibrate instruments and diagnose faulty equipment Assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring and equipment Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation. Maintain, program and install PLC Preform weld repairs as required
Qualifications:
N3 with a Trade Test in Electrical Engineering Minimum experience of 3 years Knowledge of electrical codes and best practices Knowledge in basic instrumentation Knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics Proficient in Microsoft Office Experience with basic hand and power tools Experience with diagnostic tools Good understanding of PLC's, HMI's & VSD's set-up, programming and understanding the Software to aid in problem solving
