You have a stronger understanding of Electrical BoP on a large construction site and enjoy sharing that knowledge with the team. In order to apply successfully, the following points should not be new to you, and you should be very comfortable implementing them.What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)One of the most fundamental key aspects of this role is HSE. This means supporting the plan on site, validating documents and integrating considerations into the project as a whole just to name a few.You will also, naturally, be managing the overall construction of the BESS plant leaning on your strong Electrical Engineering background while always liaising with your supervisor team and subcontractors. Conducting daily meetings, and completing all necessary reports is where you shine.Your Quality Assurance support is vital. Coordinating quality checks and ensuring all are conducted in a timely and effective manner.Measuring the progress of designs, inspections and milestones is something that comes naturally to you while communicating with all necessary parties, including contractors, to ensure the project flows successfully to completion is important. Your reporting structure directs you straight to the Project Manager.Where you'll be doing itOur client, a leading international IPP, is spearheading a battery energy storage project on various sites in SA (North West/Mpumalanga/Northern Cape) featuring a state-of-the-art BESS with a capacity of 115MWp and three 30MW battery storage systems controlled by a virtual power plant controller. They are pulling together a team of invaluable people to head this engineering project. You will be joining the site for a 24-month fixed-term contract.What you'll needWith a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (BSc or BTech preferred), being SACPCMP Professional Construction Manager (Pr.CM) certified is necessary, and holding a minimum of 5 years of site management experience around substations, you will bring expertise to the table. And note that your previous experience with local communities will ensure seamless interactions between company and community.You will need to be a top notch negotiator, communicator, and team player that is mentally and physically fit for the job.What youll getApart from an open door into the most sought-after energy space of the decade, you will be walking away with a comfortable salary at the end of each month including med/pens benefits and standard site benefits.
