Job Title: Employee Benefits AdvisorLocation: Kloof, KZNDepartment: Wealth ManagementJob Purpose:The Employee Benefits Advisor will be responsible for providing expert advice and services to corporate clients regarding employee benefits solutions, including retirement plans, group life insurance, medical aid schemes, and other employee wellness programs. The role involves designing benefit structures that align with client needs, ensuring compliance with South African regulations, and providing ongoing support for both clients and employees.Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise corporate clients on structuring employee benefits packages, including retirement funds, risk benefits (death, disability), and healthcare options.
  • Conduct regular reviews of employee benefit schemes to ensure they remain competitive and compliant with legislation.
  • Liaise with providers of employee benefits, including retirement funds, insurance companies, and medical aid schemes.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on employee benefits to corporate clients and employees.
  • Assist clients in ensuring compliance with the Pension Funds Act, Medical Schemes Act, and other relevant South African legislation.
  • Handle queries from clients and employees regarding their benefits and assist with claims processes.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation affecting employee benefits and ensure clients are informed and compliant.
  • Manage the implementation and communication of benefit programs within client organizations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Financial Planning, Economics, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Employee Benefits or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification will be highly advantageous.
  • RE5 (Regulatory Exam Certificate): Essential for interacting with clients in a financial advisory role.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits advisory or wealth management, specifically in a corporate environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the South African benefits and regulatory environment, including the Pension Funds Act, Group Risk Benefits, Medical Schemes Act, and associated tax laws.
  • Experience with South African Revenue Service (SARS) regulations concerning retirement and medical aid benefits.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Analytical skills to design tailored employee benefit solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel for reporting and benefit modeling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High attention to detail, especially regarding compliance and regulatory requirements.
Additional Requirements:
  • Membership in professional organizations such as the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) is preferred.
  • Driver's license and own transport required for client meetings and presentations.
