Engineering Artisan - Millwright (Shift) - PostmasburgFull job descriptionIntroductionThis position will be based at Koedoeskloof Iron ore mine in the Northern Cape.DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to diagnose and maintain machinery and equipment according to technical specification and sound engineering practice.Duties and ResponsibilitiesInvestigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to maintenance requirements, standards and specificationsPerform daily inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, operational and Company standards and report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the SupervisorDevelop, modify, construct and install all types of trade related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipmentEnsure that all installations and equipment are safe and in good working order after task completionContinuously monitor equipment failure and efficiency to improve trade specific equipment and systemsConsult with production teams on maintenance activities that affect productionSupport the achievement of equipment/ machine availability and production performance levelsEnsure that maintenance related information is recorded and reported to the relevant planning office to support the planned maintenance / asset maintenance systemEnsure that production targets are achieved according to the production planQualification RequirementsGrade 12 or equivalent qualificationValid Section 13 Trade Test / Section 26(D) Certificate requiredValid drivers license code B, EB or C1Own transport to attend to call outsExperience and Skills RequirementsMinimum of 2 - 3 years experience as a qualified MillwrightMust have knowledge and experience with instrumentation equipmentVSD trainedMust have experience in pump maintenance and repairsMust be able to do alignmentMust have knowledge in changing bearingsOperating of Huckbolting and thread cutting machine will be an added advantageKnowledge of maintaining MV motors will be an added advantageMedium Voltage competency skills (certificated) will be an added advantageNot colour blindMust be able to work in confined spaces and at heightsMust be familiar with risk assessment proceduresMust be willing to work shifts and without supervisionEnglish language proficiencyTime management skills
