In this role, prepare to get your hands dirty by working closely with software development and architecture teams to provide the best technical solutions using the full complement of multi-skilled technical leads within your team. Yes, you will actually code and build solutions! Your primary duties and focus are on the equipment, technology, and infrastructure that support the portfolios complex technical landscape. The candidate will be reporting to the Head of Portfolio.Duties will include, but not limited to:Lead a team of technical leads across a broad technical domain (includes but not limited to software development, business intelligence, QA) setting the standards for leading innovation through hand on actions.Provide technical leadership to architects and design large projects and new products, focusing on long-term technology strategies.Work in close collaboration with Head of Portfolio, Product Delivery Managers and Product Managers in providing the best technical solutions that will achieve target state and equally deliver an enriched customer experience.Create a collaborative and inclusive engineering team culture where members continuously improve their skills, while ensuring they feel connected to our product, customers, and overall company resultsCommunicate expectations, feedback, and context to team members, partners, and stakeholders early and often.Mentor the professional development of each direct report through personal and performance management.Identify and track key metrics to improve team management, accountability, productivity, decision making, and achievement of businessActively participating to software development teams delivery through assisting in building platforms, prototypes, practical new technology adoptionImplementing features, technology, and process that move us towards industry best practices, improving on scalability, efficiency, reliability, and securityAssist with incident resolution, review, and management thereofHosting regular learning incident review whiteboard sessions with DigiTechEssential Criteria:At least 5 years hands-on software development experience.At least 5 years hands-on experience in a configurable web based platformAt least 2 years experience in building on Cloud PlatformsSenior developer or Lead in a technology environment for at least 1 year.Demonstrates consistent behavior aligned to the Organizational Culture.Desirable Criteria:Vision setting experienceStrong technical leadership experienceExpert knowledge of plug-in / extendable frameworks and modularizationExperience working and integrating content management systems (preferably headless CMS)Working with enterprise scale systemsComputer Science related degree, diploma, or similar qualification.Working knowledge ofCloud architectureService busRelational; NoSQL; cache datastoresActor patternsConcurrency patternsProductivity tooling3rd Party integrationsHigh availability patterns/Redundancy patternsExtensive knowledge of system designStrong inclination to Computer Science theory, patterns, and best practicesPerson Specifications:Ownership & AccountabilityEfficiency and EffectivenessAdaptabilityOrganisation & PlanningCommunicationDecision MakingBuilding RelationshipsInfluence*Please note we will apply relevance to our Talent Management and Talent Development Programme as part of our recruitment process.*Shortlisted candidates may need to complete an assessment.This position requires trust and honesty it has access to customers financial details - therefore a credit and criminal record check will be conducted.
