RPO Recruitment is currently partnering with a reputable mining company in the Northern Cape to find an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong leadership skills and a background in the mining industry. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient performance of the mining projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, improve processes, and optimize the use of resources.Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support
• Plan and coordinate engineering activities to meet project objectives within budget and timeline
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all engineering operations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables
• Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of mining infrastructure and equipment
• Monitor and evaluate project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
• Manage budgets, resources, and procurement activities related to engineering projects
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in engineering technology

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar field
• GCC Mines and Works certification is essential
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering role within the mining industry
• 5 years' experience in a management position
• Strong technical knowledge of mining operations and best practices
• Proven experience in managing large-scale mining projects
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a challenging and dynamic environment
