To collect biological samples from study participants
Location:
DPHRU - Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto - Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
Appointment making
Participant retention - Calling and fieldwork tracing
Data collection in the field
Provide study information and administer informed consent to study participants
Collect biological samples
Administering the Oral Glucose Tolerance test (OGTT)
Collecting blood samples from paediatric participants
Provide clinical referrals
Accompanying emergencies to casualty
Administer questionnaires
Able to capture data into the online platform (REDCap) in real time
Develop and provide reports as required by the study coordinator
Management and procurement of clinic consumables
Required minimum education and training:
Matric
Qualified as an Enrolled Nurse
Valid Driver's License
Computer Literacy
Required minimum work experience:
2-3 Years' experience in a research field
Professional body registration:
Registered with the South African Nursing Council
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must have strong organizational and report writing skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with study participants and the coordinator
Criteria to be addressed in the applicant's cover letter:
Scholarly achievements in related field
Experience in biological sample collection
