Location:
Jose Pearson TB Hospital, Gqeberha
Key performance areas:
Inform participants about the research protocol
Screen potential participants and obtain Informed Consent according to SOPs
Administer study questionnaires/interviews
Provide appropriate health education and adherence counseling where necessary
Assess participants and triage if applicable.
Draw blood from participants and send samples or specimens to the Laboratory
Perform sputum test appropriately and maintain infection control
Complete clinical records at the time of participant visit for each participant visit
Perform sample-related activities such as collection, labeling, spinning, storage, and shipping
Track all lost to follow up participants as per Team decisions and effectively communicate with other Team members.
Log any lab results onto Lab flow charts once in receipt thereof
Take ownership and accountability for tasks & activities
Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
Inform relevant parties in the event that tasks or deadlines are not met and provide appropriate means of resolution
Support and drive the business's core values
Respond openly to feedback
Willing to help others and go the extra mile to meet team targets and objectives
Required minimum education and training:
Certificate in General Nursing as an Enrolled Nurse
South African Nursing Council registration
Required minimum work experience and abilities:
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience
Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:
Certification in Good Clinical Practice
Experience in Research Environment
Ordered and systematic with strict compliance to protocol requirements
Be tactful, respectful and maintain confidentiality
Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
Respect with a sound work ethic
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and emails
