The Data Architect is responsible for the design and management of an organisations data infrastructure. This includes creating data models, selecting and configuring database management systems, and developing processes for data integration and ECTL (Extract, Cleanse, Transform, Load). Data architects ensure data quality, security, and compliance through robust governance policies and scalable, high-performing architectures. Proven Experience in Data Integration, Data Architecture, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Delivery Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Quality, Content Management Define the data requirements and structure for the application, ensuring alignment with business objectives and data governance policies. Model and design the application data structure, considering factors such as scalability, performance, and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Develop data integration strategies and solutions, ensuring seamless data flow between different systems and applications. Implement data governance practices and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Define and document the data process flows, data types align with overall Architecture principles Should have knowledge in mSCOA and understand the Data Architecture requirements across COJ in EA level Responsible for design and implementation of data modelling and data architecture for e.g., DataFactory /Kimball/ Inmon /DataMesh/ DataVault 2.0/LakeHouse/Data Lake/Medallion Architecture. Responsible for designing ECTL/ETL, Data Ingestion, Data Validation and Data Quality in the data pipeline. Responsible for designing and preparing the data dictionary and data catalogue related to the data model. Apply technical knowledge to architect and design solutions that meet business and IT needs. A good understanding and hands-on market leading ETL/BI tools. Knowledge in SQL and Python. Analyses business and proposal data and technical requirements to develop a wide range of data related solutions in cloud and traditional Technologies. Participate in the design, development, planning, modification and/or improvement of existing data and analytical systems. Research system designs, concepts, feasibility and enhancement solutions utilizing advanced technical theory and knowledge. Methodology Experience: Agile, DMBOK, DataOps, MLOps End-to-end data architecture design Understanding of Information Architecture domain (e.g., DAMA / DMBOK) Maintain awareness of new developments in AI and Data technology. Applies to enterprise solutions as relevant. Expertise in database management systems (e.g., SQL, MySQL, GraphDB, MongoDB, PostGIS). Define data management processes Define Systems management processes Proficiency in data architecture tools Experience with data integration tools and big data technologies Data integration (real-time, streaming, virtualization) Planning & Organisation: Collaborate with business to define and compile data architecture requirements to align with smart city goals. Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in data architecture infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities Together with the business, identify and recommend critical success factors for measuring performance. Define technical requirements, assist with functional requirements, develop standards that govern system development and implementation, design and develop data architectural systems. Identify, review, and recommend new software applications or innovations, considering their design, integration, and technical fit with other systems in line with data architecture. Execute Analysis and Design Activities: Assess the current data landscape for adequacy of resiliency controls and end-to-end systems design and implementation. Develop innovative and sustainable data architecture designs that are future proof with risk management and controls. Technical implementation within own area: Demonstrate data architecture prototypes and integrate user feedback. Perform data integration, maintenance and continuity. Document data flow processes, procedures, and standards. Integrate trends in data architecture in current and future implementation projects. Ensure that uniform enterprise-wide data design standards are maintained. Reporting: Provide weekly, and monthly management and status reports in accordance with the AS-IS and TO-BE data architecture requirements. Develop data architecture methods that outline alternative solutions to existing data processes and assist the business in making the right choice. Facilitate communication across Business Units, identify change management interventions and timelines from the projects perspective. Stakeholder and Customer Engagement: Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand the needs for the various data requirements. Coordinate with Enterprise and Data Architecture to ensure a broader understanding and define the architectural components for application design. Engage with business intelligence (BI), Data and Applications Teams in designing and delivering development approaches. Provide technical guidance and support to Project and Programme Managers to ensure smooth interfacing between vendors, internal designers, and business unit. Enhance stakeholder engagement to address issues, improve relations, and provide information on the project status. Lead as an Ambassador and Executor of Change: Provide continuity during times of change by serving as a change management architect. Manage the integration of development into a seamless end-to-end customer experience. Communicate and embed new processes and procedures effectively, addressing, or escalating concerns to Business owners. Communicate consistently and accurately across ones area by facilitating presentations, workshops, or forums. Drive the organisation culture: Inspire confidence and generate excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the departments values. Lead employees to the creation of a winning culture and a high morale environment in the organisation.
