Requirements
The successful candidate must be in possession of at least a national diploma in Botany or Plant production, experience and working knowledge of computers (MS Office), good communication (verbal and written) skills in English language, a valid drivers license and the ability to drive, appropriate experience in the field of plant genetic resources is essential, the candidate must be prepared to work in the field and laboratory.
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Responsible for seed cleaning, seed amount determination and moisture determination
Responsible for the characterization of accessions
Responsible for the documentation of all characterization of accessions
Responsible for the maintenance of field gene banks and shade houses
Assist the ex-situ officer with tissue culture and cryo-preservation
Assist with the collection missions
Assist with multiplication and regeneration
