Job Description
The client is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join their team in Cape Town.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Environmental screening and impact assessment, report writing, tender & proposal compilation, public participation, authority, client and specialist liaison, ECO auditing, and deliverable quality control.
- An interest in being involved in other sustainability projects in the built environment is advantageous.
- Minimum of a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management / Sciences or similar and a minimum of 5 years post-graduate environmental consulting experience.
- EAPASA registration is required.
- Must have a full, valid driverxe2x80x99s license and be willing to travel.
- A minimum of 5 years post-graduate environmental consulting experience.
- Must have experience in undertaking Basic Assessments and EIAs in South Africa, preferably having managed a number of environmental authorisation applications independently from start to finish.
- Must have experience in compiling budgets, proposals and tenders.
- Core understanding of NEMA, NEM:WA, MPRDA, NEM:AQA and NWA processes and associated legislation and regulations.
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite.
- Excellent English written and verbal skills.
- Good time management.
- Meeting of deadlines.
- Ability to analytically interrogate scientific and technical information.
- Be able to manage multiple projects.
