LOCATION: Cape TownR HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUSOur client is a Cape Town based, purpose driven asset manager. The company will also provide learning opportunities aimed at developing both technical and softer skills in line with your needs and interests..JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• You will be required to be part of the investment team operating as a single team, optimising individual strengths across the risk curve, rather than being siloed by asset class. You will be required to be a member of the investment team as a junior analyst focusing on stock analysis across the globe;
• You will be required to immerse yourself in our investment process;
• You will be required to research and assess stocks listed on the JSE and globally looking for potential investment opportunities;
• You will be required to perform counterparty or industry research including understanding financial statements, financial analysis and valuation techniques;
• You will be required to actively participate in our investment committee meetings;
• You will be required to present investment recommendations to the investment team supported by strong qualitative and quantitative analysis;
• You will be required to support the rest of the business in due diligence processes and client engagements.

• You are able to demonstrate evidence of hard work, dedication, a positive attitude and resilience during your progression through your studies and early career;
• You have an aptitude for numbers and analytical thinking and be able to show evidence of this;

• You have excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English

• You have interests or skills that will bring variety, diversity and fresh perspectives to the the company's team;
• You are a a self-starter who is open and willing to learn, grow and take initiative in a culture that values autonomy.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• You are a graduate at honours level at with less than 3 years' current relevant experience working as an analyst, but more experienced candidates will also be considered - it's the right fit - we don't want someone stuck in a business manner and style - so not 15 years at one place - but someone still malleable but has their own opinion. This is a very friendly, hard-working team but a caring team - they need clever people to join them as they have healthy debate about markets but they also want a happy person who is passionate about investments.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel;
• You have a proven interest in asset management and investing and be able to motivate what attracts them to the industry.
