  • The INTSS Division manages critical systems like Intelligent Network (IN) platforms hosting Prepaid/Postpaid Charging, USSD, Please Call Me, Recharge Services, MyVodacom subscriber channel, Provisioning Services etc.
  • Furthermore, the INTSS environment includes SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) systems. SOX failures are reported to Vodafone and Senior leadership is held accountable for any issues. SOX compliance is therefore also an important part of this role.
  • Another area of importance in this role, is that of Cyber Security compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Accountability for implementing the strategic roadmap to ensure the availability, performance and scalability of the network systems to enable the achievement of the network Engineering strategy, aligned with the VSA Business and Technology strategy ambitions.
  • Executes on standards and designs related to INTSS platforms and applications, including project initiations, system requirements, incident management and cost base management;
  • Possesses a broad and comprehensive understanding of theories and practices across the network landscape to plan, schedule, implement and test new products and services
  • Ensures all activities that impact Network availability and quality are conducted according to the highest level of Engineering standards in line with KPIs, (e.g. making sure planned outages don't exceed the given time limit);
  • Ensure end-to-end Network Performance and Quality
  • Builds relations and provides clear vendor and partner management, controls the scope of maintenance contracts and any kind of managed service contracts related to INTSS as well as the associated budget for such contracts and services;
  • Internal investigations and negotiations at a senior level to ensure actions and escalations are routed/highlighted as necessary, (both internally and/or
The ideal candidate for this role will have:Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • A Degree or its equivalent in Information Technology, Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, and other related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in IN and VAS services, platforms and applications
  • Minimum 5 years' in a people leadership role
  • Excellent understanding of the telecommunications/ICT market and substantial technology background.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience :
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experienced in managing risks and mitigating for these.
  • Substantial commercial knowledge and experience e.g. in finance and legal policy, contract negotiation and management.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance and resolve conflicts of interest
  • Ability to work across cross-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver excellent customer service and change.
  • Significant experience of managing large OPEX budgets and driving cost efficiencies within the business.
  • Puts Customers First - passionate about customers needs, proactively focussing activity to maximise market value
  • Performing Through People - empowers, values and develops talented and diverse teams. Strong leadership and engagement skills required
  • Delivering Results - consistently delivers on commitments, maximising value for Vodafone/Vodacom through internal and external collaboration
  • Experience of leading organisations and people successfully through significant transformational change and ability to adapt to a fast changing environment. Excellent communication skills.
