Executive Housekeeper 4* Hotel - UmhlangaFull job descriptionAs theExecutive Housekeeper, you will be responsible for supervising the housekeeping team, ensuring all bedrooms, public spaces, and function rooms are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. You will manage a team including Housekeeping Managers, Supervisors, Housekeepers, Laundry Managers, and support staff. You will work closely with theGeneral Managerand other department heads, includingFood and Beverage,Front Office, andSecurity, to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.Key duties will include ensuring room maintenance, managing cleaning supplies, staff training, and overseeing the implementation of operational procedures. You will be thebrand ambassadorof the business, creating a clean and inviting environment for guests and staff alike.This4-star hotelprides itself on delivering high-quality guest services and a top-tier hospitality experience. It is dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and operational excellence to ensure guest satisfaction and comfort.Supervise and manage the housekeeping team to ensure rooms, public areas, and function rooms are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.Ensure timely cleaning and turnaround of function rooms, and VIP rooms receive the required extras.Maintain an adequate supply of clean linen in good repair and ensure rooms are regularly checked for repairs and refurbishing.Coordinate with theGeneral Managerto ensure appropriate decor and maintenance.Handle staff training, coaching, and development to ensure high performance.Oversee attendance records, salary variations, administrative returns, and duty rosters.Ensure effective communication through meetings and staff discussions.Manage the cleanliness of staff accommodation and ensure the availability of necessary cleaning supplies.Conduct regular fire and evacuation drills to ensure staff safety.Act as aBrand Ambassador, representing the hotels values and standards.Prepare and submit all information necessary for budgeting purposes.Must possess a strong ability to handle customer service, complaints, and ensure that housekeeping staff have the appropriate tools to perform their duties.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.Strong organizational and leadership abilities.Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.Integrity, assertiveness, and the ability to lead by example.Ability to create and maintain periodic inventories.Experience in creating work schedules and managing staff effectively.Matric(compulsory), aDegreeor relevant qualification is advantageous.8+ years of experiencein a leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in housekeeping management.Previous experience in a high-standard, guest-facing environment is essential.Between 3 - 5 Years
