Job Description


Our client in the Hospitality industry is currently looking for an Executive Pastry Manager, in Westcliff, Johannesburg.Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Create innovative, high-end pastry menus using seasonal ingredients and global trends.
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily pastry production, and stock management, and ensure hygiene compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Train and mentor pastry chefs, fostering creativity and excellence.
  • Guest Experience: Collaborate with the Executive Chef and engage with guests for personalized desserts.
  • Financial Control: Manage budgets, minimize waste, and maintain top-tier quality standards.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years as an Executive Pastry Chef/Manager in a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Culinary Expertise: Strong background in French patisserie, artisan bread, chocolate work, and plated desserts.
  • Leadership & Training: Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire a pastry team.
  • Creativity & Innovation: Passion for crafting unique, high-end pastries with attention to detail.
  • Operational & Financial Acumen: Experience managing costs, suppliers, and inventory in a high-volume pastry kitchen.
  • Certifications: Formal pastry/baking qualifications from a recognized culinary institution preferred.
Remuneration:
  • R27 000 R35 000 per month dependent on qualification and experience.
