Role Description: Reporting to the Specialist: Commercial, the role will be responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of materials, products, or services. Responsible for monitoring and expediting orders, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and resolving any issues that may impact the delivery schedule. Confirm delivery schedule with suppliers.RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and track order progress, ensuring timely delivery of materials, products, or services.
• Coordinate with suppliers to expedite orders, resolve delivery issues, and ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as procurement, contracts, logistics, and production, to prioritize and expedite critical orders.
• Proactively communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to provide updates on order status and any potential delays.
• Resolve any order-related issues or discrepancies, including quantity discrepancies, damaged goods, or quality concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of order status, delivery dates, and related communication.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders or shipping companies to arrange transportation and track shipments.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline the expediting process and enhance delivery efficiency.
• Liaise with the procurement and contracts team to ensure that policy is appropriate and action implemented for:

• Definition of critical or long-lead items
• Establishment of procedures for requisitioning of materials and equipment, in line with material control requirements
• Basis for stock outs by material category.
• Minimum stock holding by category and size
• Services are rendered on time and in full.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the Supply Chain Function.

• Takes cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non compliance issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Supply Chain OR equivalent.
• Minimum 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in expediting, procurement, or supply chain roles.
• Proficiency in using inventory management or ERP systems.
• Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite

ADVANTAGEOUS REQUIREMENTS:Supervisory Development Programme (SDP) or equivalent.TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Demonstrate an understanding of supplier relationship management principles and practices.
• Understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, and order fulfilment.
• Knowledge of order tracking and expediting techniques.
• Familiarity with supplier management and relationship building.
• Experience in resolving order-related issues and discrepancies.
• Know, understand, and adhere to applicable policies and procedures.
• Know and understand the business objectives and strategic plan.
• Know and understand service level agreements.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations and/or tenders from potential new suppliers.
• Assist with registering new vendors on the system as per the operational needs.
• Analyse the information gathered and compile the necessary process reports according to standards and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill of quality control principles and practices.
