The Export Controller ensures that the correct paperwork is in place for shipments and their exporters, so that the customer receives the product on time and in full. They are responsible for completing order processing and documentation flow. This must be carried out in accordance with the company processers and procedures.Key Accountabilities and Outputs:Systems:Work off the sales ticket automation system.Accept and close online tickets timeously to maintain good customer service.Liaise with customers to fulfil requirements for packaging, labelling, barcoding, etc.Export Documentation:Must be familiar and evaluate current custom procedures and apply all new customs related requirements for exports on an ongoing basis.Prepare all export documentation and relevant certificates of conformance and other certificates that will be required by our customers and destination customs authorities.Obtain required product certifications for all export products for customs clearance.Service Providers:Engage with transporters and freight forwarders on vessel availability for specific trade lanes and confirmation of bookings.Source and negotiate freight rates.Provide effective communication internally with production, finance, quality, and despatch, whilst externally with customers, transporters and freight forwarders.Order Processing:Assign available stock and liaise with production planning regarding out-of-stock items.Fulfil customer orders and container capacity in accordance with weight requirements and restrictions for sea, air, and road freight.Accept and enter orders from faxed, emailed documentation and process the orders in ERP.Verify product availability on all orders and communicate product shortages to the customers.Trace orders as required and notify customers of any activity concerning their account.equirements and Qualifications:Grade 12/Matric with a pass in Maths/Maths Lit and English is essential.A relevant Logistics/Supply chain qualification is essential.At least 3 years experience in an Exports environment/ in an Export Controller role or similar dealing with air, shipping and road transporters is essential.Must have knowledge of the different countrys requirements in terms of documentation, regulations and compliance of international trade.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, D365 ERP or equivalent is essential.Product knowledge, understanding of despatch, production and raw materials is advantageous.Must be flexible in terms of working hours (lunch breaks or staying late to accommodate shipping deadlines), display self-initiative and execution.Have a proven track record in achieving monthly targets.Managers Expectations:To be successful in this role you will need to be meticulous, be proactive, have self-initiative, work well independently, enjoy collaborating with others and have a strong ability to execute/complete tasks.Competencies: Individual Contributor LevelValuing Differences - Working effectively with individuals of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, abilities, motivations, or backgrounds; seeks out and uses unique abilities, insights, and ideas from diverse individuals.Work standards- Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.Earning Trust- Gaining others confidence by acting with integrity and following through on commitments while disclosing own positions; treating others and their ideas with respect and supporting them in the face of challenges.Initiating Action- Taking prompt action to accomplish work goals; taking action to achieve results beyond what is required; being proactive.Customer Orientation - Placing a high priority on the internal or external customers perspective when making decisions and acting; implementing service practices that meet the customers and own organizations needs.Quality Orientation- Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how detailed; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks; being watchful over a period of time.Safety Focus- Identifying and improving conditions that affect own and others safety, upholding safety standards.Planning and Organising- Establishing an action plan for self and others to complete work efficiently and on time by setting priorities, establishing timelines, and leveraging resources.Continuous Learning- Actively identifying new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities; using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job and learning through their application.Influencing - Using effective involvement and persuasion strategies to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to actions that support specific work outcomes.Technology Savvy- Leveraging ones practical knowledge and understanding of recent technology tools, solutions, and trends to improve work results, solve work problems, and take advantage of new business opportunities.Disclaimer: This position is vacant due to a recent resignation.Internal applicants are encouraged to apply.
