Export & Procurement Manager Fresh Produce

An established fresh produce company in marketing, farming and value-adding is recruiting an Export & Procurement Manager.Responsibilities

Formulate, develop and deliver export strategy.
Manage financial budget.
Manage the entire procurement function, liaise with growers and manage growing programmes.
Management of product category strategies.
Work closely with retail buying teams.

Candidate Requirements

A BSc Agric degree in horticulture, agronomy, agricultural economics/agribusiness management, BCom degree or a qualification in a relevant field.
3-8 years experience in the fresh produce export, retail and marketing environment.
Strong commercial ability.
Strategic thinker, ambitious and a self-starter.
Willingness to travel within South Africa and internationally.
Understanding of logistics (international/air and sea freight)
Export experience with fresh vegetables and/or fruit will be advantageous. Fruit categories are in the development phase, expanding their existing range of products exported.
Ability to negotiate and work with retail buying teams.
Competitive salary, and an incentive structure will be introduced.
