The Stakeholder Engagement team is searching for a Community Development Facilitator to join our business located in Richmond, KZN.Reporting to the Midlands Land Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for Mondi community programmes and land reform initiatives within the designated arears, in conjunction with local communities, land claimants, Government departments and Operational Management.Qualification & ExpertiseTertiary: Essential

  • Diploma in Forestry or Agriculture
  • Diploma/Degree: Development Studies with experience
  • Studying towards a Post Graduate qualification in e.g. Rural Development/Legal qual. is desirable
Job Experience
  • Five years' experience in Forestry/Agricultural extension with strong links to rural development.
  • Knowledge of CSI and land reform within corporate environment
Key Performance Areas:
  • Design and facilitate the implementation of Community Engagement Plan and Socio economic survey processes that are aimed at addressing the identified stakeholders and communities needs.
  • Identify and establish relationships with different stakeholders, role-players and funders to ensure sustainable implementation of approved projects.
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of Forestry CSI and land strategies locally.
  • Reports on expenditure and ensures effective budget control of CSI Projects.
  • Forge the necessary partnerships with local government departments, NGO's and private sectors.
  • Participate in land reform negotiations and packaging of land transfer and business deals
  • Implement land settlement agreements
  • Prepare progress and project reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Facilitate role of Land in area livestock management
  • Reports on fire awareness programs both quantitative and qualitative
