The Adult Programme for people with Autism is a day centre programme that aims to prepare adults over the age of 18 for life outside of the schooling environment, by implementing a programme of meaningful activities and interactions with the aim of supporting these adults in their life beyond schooling, to be able to maximize their potential.
The programme provides for a varied and stimulating day, combining group work, individual work, and community interaction; as well as pre-vocational and vocational skill development. The programme is geared specifically to support people with Autism in their key need areas, which are daily living (independence); communication and socialisation; cognitive development, and pre-vocational, leisure and well-being activities.
We are looking to expand our team. We are looking for a person with relevant experience in working with people with Autism in a classroom setting.
The ideal incumbent will have:
-Post Matric certification or qualification, in a related field such as Psychology, Special Needs education.
-Experience in working hands on with people with Autism.
-Have implemented PECS and other related AAC processes
-Have received some training in ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis)
-Be computer literate, which a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and relevant technology
-Be fluent in English, with good reading and writing skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Graduate
Pay: R8000,00 - R11000,00 per month
