Job Title: Facility Manager (85639)
Time Type: Full TimeMain Purpose of the Role

  • Ensuring minimum downtime at DSV Park Solar City operations and ensuring all preventative & corrective maintenance activities are completed according to plan & budget.
  • Manage and take overall responsibility for all maintenance, breakdowns, maintenance personnel and infrastructure for respective area & equipment. Provide a safe and healthy environment for all to work.
Job-Related Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience doing Facility Management, maintenance and preventative maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, BMS, HVAC Installations & Equipment
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical installations
  • People management experience: Ability to manage maintenance staff supporting Operations.
  • Experience in creating and Managing Budget to maintain the facility with preventative maintenance plans and warrantee claims.
  • General facility related maintenance & corrective activities
  • Vendor SLA management & control
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Practical person that is good working with hands
  • Honesty and reliability
  • High degree of accountability, responsibility with a can-do attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Present the company effectively
  • Apply effective communication skills
  • Demonstrate analytical skills.
  • Own transport and valid driver's license required.

Added advantages for this role
  • Ability to manage small/medium/large projects with multiple stakeholders and contractors and any other routine jobs such as repairing lights and electrical circuits in an office environment.
  • Working with Conveyers, belting, sortation systems and auto baggers would be an advantage.
  • Replacing of parts and keeping ordering and managing critical spares for multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Practical & hands-on and advance problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Contract Management and the interpretation and implementation of contracts with suppliers.
Required Qualification(s) - Advantageous
  • Engineering Degree from recognised institution ( BEng / BScEng / BEng Tech equivalent / NQF3/4 Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, HVAC, Automation, Facilities Management )
  • Completed apprenticeship
Computer literacy & additional computer skills
  • Microsoft Office - Advanced
  • BMS, PLCs, Facility Management Systems, DALI Systems
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Root cause identification and investigation for issues reported by users and provide analysis of findings to support trouble shooting and prevent downtime.
  • Consult with internal departments, Vendors and Suppliers to plan equipment downtime for service or maintenance. Provides support to vendors with onsite identification of possible faults or breakdowns.
  • Performing a daily Preventative maintenance checklist for key equipment. Using scheduled daily downtime during lunch breaks to complete a list of daily checks.
  • Ensuring spare parts consumed are replenished and that critical spare lists are kept in a managed environment for each supplier.
  • Completing safety inspection checklists as per supplier requirements.
  • Ensuring all data and records of repairs services for audits are current and a full-service history is kept up to date. Records to be kept in a file for each supplier.
  • Assisting with all other emergencies as and when required within the DSV Park Solar City Environment.
  • Standby and overtime work in some weekends / outside of business hours as per operational requirements.
  • Keeping daily records of work performed to identify trends as well as work split between the different entities.
  • Manage attic stock.
  • Managing & ensuring safety files are in place & updated/maintained.
  • Managing Tickets and Service Levels with Ticket System.
  • Managing & prioritize task lists and action items.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained.
  • Ensuring spares consumed are replenished and that critical spare lists are kept in a managed environment.
  • Ensuring all data for audits are current and a full-service history is kept up to date.
  • Budget and Actual Cost Review (provide monthly variance reporting on maintenance budget / actual)
  • Expense approvals
  • Timesheet and Overtime approval of team
  • Management meetings with Role players (OPS, Security, Health and Safety etc.)
  • Participative Forum Meetings with all maintenance staff
  • Meeting with Suppliers in relation to overall maintenance activities.
