RedCat Recruitment is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced FACTORY MANAGER (STEEL INDUSTRY) for a well-established company, position based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Grade 12.

Valid drivers license.

Competent computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).

Trade tested boilermaker or relevant (red seal preferred) and / or Mechanical Engineering (Diploma / Degree).

5yrs+ relevant management or supervisory experience.

Lead and inspire a team of skilled boilermakers and manufacturing staff to meet and exceed production targets while upholding companys commitment to quality.

Ensure that all equipment leaving the factory meets company high quality standards and that manufacturing processes are optimized for efficiency and safety.

Oversee hiring, training, and development of factory personnel, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.

Develop and execute production schedules, allocate resources efficiently, and manage inventory effectively.

Prioritize and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Monitor and control production costs, striving for efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to drive operational excellence.

Maintenance of fleet vehicles - ensure that vehicles are always in excellent condition, logbooks are completed and services maintained.
