Position Type Non-ManagementPOSITION SUMMARYJOB DESCRIPTIONEnsure that QPRO, Health & Hygiene standards are upheld according to Hotel proceduresAssisting in setting up and breaking down of Restaurant Operations/ Conferencing or Special EventsAssist Management in the opening and closing duties of the Restaurant/Bar/Banqueting/Room serviceEnsure that Hotel Policies and procedures are followed at all times to ensure GUEST satisfactionDeal with GUEST complaints and queries immediately and efficientlyEnsure that the bar team are following the Hotels Policies and Procedures regarding beverage servicesPerform duties of a barman in the Food and Beverage department of the Hotel as directed by ManagementDealing with GUEST comments/requests promptly to ensure the acquisition and Maintenance of GUESTSDrive broader goals of the hotel in terms of bar general services by planning and achieving objectivesMeet, greet and interact with all our GUESTS with a friendly and welcoming smileContinuously upselling and aiming to reach revenue budgetOperate point of sale system and doing cash up daily.Maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness in the bar area according to QPRODeal with GUEST complaints and queries immediately and efficientlyActively involved in the daily, weekly, monthly beverage stock takesEfficient cost management plan must be in place and followed regularly.The employee is familiar with and performs to the minimum GUEST Service Standards laid down within his/ her area of work and responsibilityEnsure to comply with financial procedures of the hotel and handle payments and cash according to the set code of conductRequirements:Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalentHospitality management qualification would be a great advantageRecent work experience in a same or similar positionExcellent communication skills in English, written, verbal and telephone etiquettesExcellent GUEST relations skills, GUEST service driven, extremely passionate for this industry, a TEAM player with a positive attitudeWell groomed, presentable and professional mannerAbility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidaysComplete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc. Check with captain or supervisor before leaving at end of shift. Set up, stock, and maintain work areas. Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies. Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables. Maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas, bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines.Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
