Feedlot Manager

Job Description
Our client is seeking a Feedlot Manager to join their team, based in Oudtshoorn.
Minimum Requirements:-
- Agricultural Degree advantageous
- 5+ years industry-related experience
- Good understanding of ration formulation, managing forage and bovine nutrition
- Pasture and food management experience
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft - Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Valid driver's license
- Good managerial skills
- Ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans
- Oversee daily operations of the feed yards
- Ensure profitable operations of the feedlot to optimize feeding parameters
- Develop a feeding program for the herd, considering any special considerations
- Understand the nutritional requirements for the livestock of relevance, considering what promotes healthy growth
- Work with veterinarians to ensure animal health is maintained, and any sickness is caught immediately
- Ensure that the feedlot is clean and well maintained
- Report on weekly feedlot performance
- Manage a feed budget
- Manage all other feedlot staff effectively
- Manage feedlot and appropriate safety standards and relations with employees, suppliers and customers
