Job Summary
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a BSc (Agric) degree or equivalent in plant production, soil science, or biological pest control
- Minimum 2 years work experience in similar role will be required
- Proficiency in sustainable farming practices, crop management, soil science, agriculture, irrigation, and plant nutrition is essential
- Must have knowledge of the key differences, requirements and specifications of permanent and seasoned crops
- Experience in conducting research and analysis in the field of agronomy with good report writing and presentation skills are important
- Must have a valid drivers license, own suitable vehicle and be willing to travel within the assigned region
- Performing various day-to-day tasks related to soil science, agriculture, irrigation, plant nutrition, and research.
- Implementing and managing agronomic practices.
- Conducting research and analysis, providing recommendations for soil and crop management, and collaborating with other team members.
- Performing soil and nutrient management on row crop and orchard farms, as well as crop protection in orchard crops.
- Conducting farm visits throughout the season and assisting with fertilization and lime programs in the winter.
- Developing own work schedules and fulfilling all the expected roles independently.
