Job SummaryWell established company serving the Scientific and Laboratory industry throughout Southern Africa has a vacancy for a field service technician to deliver the desired customer service experience. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability. Solid experience with troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of electronic and laboratory equipment is required, along with a Tertiary Technical qualification, preferably in electronics or similar. The position will be office based, but will require travelling to client sites within South Africa, as well as Internationally.Requirements:

• Technical Degree or Certification ( Electronics/Similar).
• Proven field service experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
• English literacy.
• Willing to travel locally and internationally.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
• Familiarity with tools and applications.
• Valid drivers license and own car

Duties:

• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
• Tie workflow to schedule.
• Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Calibration and validation of various equipment and disciplines.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and certificates.
• Document processes.
• Operate vehicle in a safely manner and use field automation systems.
• Follow all company's filed procedures and protocols.
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
• Build positive relationships with customers.

• Centrifuges (including refrigerated)
• (Co2)
• Autoclaves
• Hotplate/stirrers.
• Water baths. (Heated & refrigerated)
• Freezers & Fridges. (ULT and domestic)
• Refractometers, Ph. meters, conductivity meters.
• Balances & scales.
• Freeze dryers. (Vacuum & refrigeration)
• Ultrasonic baths.
• Grinders and polishers.
• Various other electronic equipment.
• Various other laboratory equipment.
