Job Description


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field
  • Proven experience in agronomy consulting, precision farming, or related agricultural field is essential
  • Strong understanding of agronomic principles, soil science, crop physiology, and agricultural production systems are essential
  • Must be proficient in utilizing precision agriculture tools and technologies, such as GIS, remote sensing, GPS guidance systems, and farm management software
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex agronomic data and provide actionable recommendations is advantageous
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences is essential
  • Must be committed to stay current with advancements in precision farming technology and agronomic research through continuous learning and professional development
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative approach will be required to develop innovative solutions for optimizing crop production and resource management
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to client sites as needed
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Conducting comprehensive field assessments to analyze soil properties, crop health, and environmental factors using precision farming technologies.
  • Utilizing data collected from remote sensing, GIS, and other precision agriculture tools to generate field-specific recommendations for crop inputs, irrigation management, and pest control.
  • Collaborating with farmers and agricultural producers to develop customized precision farming plans tailored to their specific needs and objectives.
  • Implementing precision agriculture techniques such as variable rate application (VRA) of fertilizers, pesticides, and water to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to clients on the adoption and utilization of precision farming technologies, including GPS guidance systems, drones, and automated machinery.
  • Monitoring and analyzing agronomic data collected throughout the growing season to evaluate the effectiveness of precision farming strategies and making adjustments as needed.
  • Staying abreast of advancements in precision agriculture technology, agronomic research, and industry trends to continually enhance consulting services and deliver innovative solutions to clients.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including agronomists, engineers, and data scientists, to develop and implement integrated precision farming solutions.
  • Conducting training workshops and educational seminars for farmers and agricultural professionals on precision farming principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Maintaining accurate records of field observations, data analysis, and client interactions to track progress and support decision-making.
