The Role







As the Finance Manager for Virgin Bet in Cape Town, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and enhancing the finance department, functioning as a vital link to the central Finance team based in London. This position is akin to a startup environment, as you will be tasked with tailoring existing financial processes to suit the local context while ensuring alignment with the overarching objectives of LiveScore Group. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, guaranteeing the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and managing a local finance team. Your responsibilities will include producing timely and precise management reports, actively contributing to budgeting and forecasting initiatives, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements across multiple territories. Your expertise will be essential in driving the company's financial strategy and growth objectives, fostering a collaborative and efficient finance environment that embraces both innovation and best practices




Key Responsibilities




Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function to ensure efficiency and accuracy in all financial processes. Manage and lead the local finance team, providing clarity of roles, setting key deliverables, and defining personal objectives to drive performance. Responsibility for monthly accounting for all South African operated sports betting and online casino businesses. Produce timely and accurate monthly management reports, ensuring high-quality submissions that meet reporting deadlines. Prepare tax returns and regulatory reports for compliance in multiple territories, ensuring all obligations are met. Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process, aligning financial goals with the company's strategic objectives. Lead the annual audit process in collaboration with the company's statutory auditors, ensuring proper documentation and transparency. Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with local accounting standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.



Key Skills and Experience




Qualified Chartered Accountant with proven post-qualification experience in finance management. Experience working in a gambling or gaming company, with strong knowledge of industry-specific financial practices. Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work with and analyse large volumes of data effectively. Proficient in reporting and presentation of financial data, with a focus on clarity and accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels of the organisation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear messaging across financial reports and presentations.
