As the Finance department, we deliver timeously to the senior management and shareholders of the organisation, to assist with their decision-making processes in driving the business.Purpose of the Role:This role reports into the Senior Finance Manager and is responsible to drive the financial strategy, governance, and efficiency for the property company and facilities team. Key deliverables include overseeing corporate governance, audits, debtor and creditor functions, while optimizing revenue, controlling costs, and enhancing asset value. Additionally, the role involves financial reporting, stakeholder engagement, and aligning financial objectives with business strategies. The manager plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and bolstering the financial stability and value generation of the organization within the property industry. The candidate we are looking for is a focused, self-motivated & dynamic individual that can work at a fast pace in an ever-changing environment. The individual needs to be highly numerate, well organised and able to work to tight deadlines. Attention to detail and extensive accounting and reconciliation experience is crucial.Duties include, but not limited to:Oversee Financial Operations:Develop and execute financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts for the property company and facilities team.Analyze financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and provide recommendations for improvement.Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.Communicates clearly and effectively at all levels; both internally and externally to ensure expectations are met and potential problems escalated timeously.Property Company Management:Manage financial aspects of property acquisitions, dispositions, and lease agreements.Collaborate with property portfolio manager to optimize revenue, control costs, and enhance asset value.Provide financial support for property development and capital improvement projects.Facilities Team Oversight:Direct the financial operations of the facilities management team, including budgeting, procurement, and cost management.Liaise with facilities management to ensure efficient allocation of resources and financial accountability.Identify opportunities for operational optimization and cost efficiencies within the facilities function.Financial Reporting and Analysis:Prepare and present financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections for the property company and facilities team.Conduct regular financial reviews and performance assessments, providing insights for strategic decision-making.Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with senior management, property owners, and key stakeholders to align financial objectives with business strategies.Participate in meetings and presentations to communicate financial performance and operational initiatives.Corporate Governance and Compliance:Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in all financial operations.Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to implement and maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.Serve as a key liaison for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support for audit processes.AuditsAssist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual audit files.Effectively communicate with auditors to ensure all audit queries are adequately resolved.SOX complianceEnsure that all controls are adhered to, documented, and implemented for SOX compliance.Debtors and Creditors Function Oversight:Manage and monitor the debtors and creditors functions, overseeing invoicing, collections, and payment processes to ensure timely cash flow management.Review credit terms, payment terms, and credit limits, and establish protocols for credit assessment and debtor management.Strategically manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and optimize payment cycles for efficient working capital management.Ad Hoc Duties:Draft process notes detailing how and why monthly tasks are performed to ensure business continuityArchive all financial informationAssistance with testing of processes before implementation on Microsoft Dynamics Navision/Business CloudOther ad hoc duties as may be required from time to timeEssential Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) a plus.Proven experience in financial management, operations, or real estate, with a focus on property companies and facilities management.Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting within the property industry.Proficiency in financial management systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.Demonstrates consistent behaviour aligned to the Organizational Performance & Culture.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.Advantageous Requirements:Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Business Central.Experience in FloQast.Experience in IBM Planning Analytics/TM1/Cognos.Person Specifications:Ownership & AccountabilityCreative thinking and problem solvingBuilding RelationshipsOrganisation & PlanningInitiating action; Drive and energy.ResilienceCommunicationTeamwork*Please note we will apply relevance to our Talent Management and Talent Development Programme as part of our recruitment process.*Shortlisted candidates may need to complete an assessment.This position requires trust and honesty it has access to customers financial details - therefore a credit and criminal record check will be conducted.
