Assist and advise theGroup regarding VAT matters so that the best possibleadvice and options are provided.Manage the tax audit process and review the audit report to ensure that audit recommendations are implemented. Overseethe follow-up of any tax-related issues in the external auditmanagement letter or in the internal control reports and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and in a satisfactory mannerand that there are no repeat occurrencesCalculate annual tax liability (current and deferred), compile and submit the tax pack to Transnet, ensuring the provision of supporting tax calculations for Annual Financial Statementpurposes.Calculate monthly tax provision and ensure that Group reporting requirements are met, including liaising with Group Tax toresolve outstanding queries.Ensure that all Transnet reporting requirements are met, including final reviews of pack information to assess reasonabilityand that adequate reasons are provided for anomalies.Also ensure that all figures and analyses are properly supported and fully understood and brief the CFO to enable any Excoqueries to be resolved.Manage the process of preparing management information and reporting to the various audit committees in respect of thefinancial and operational overview and on the state of corporate governance and internal control.Manage the external audit process, ensuring that service levels are adequate and result in the timeous delivery of a signedstatutory pack aligned to the Transnet reporting requirements. This includes managing audit fees and costs, timing andschedules and the overall audit approach.Ensure that issues related to statutory reporting in the external audit management letter or in the internal control reports aredealt with promptly and in a satisfactory manner and that there are no repeat occurrences.Establish an internal control process with effective mechanisms that deliver a high level of corporate governance.
