Job Description


Join my client in the automotive industry as a Tax and Finance Analyst and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with South African tax legislation, internal control objectives, accounting standards, and financial policies and procedures. This position requires a technically proficient individual with expertise in corporate tax, indirect taxes, and transfer pricing.Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to South African tax laws, accounting standards, and financial policies.
  • Prepare and file Income Tax and VAT returns.
  • Handle Requests for Information and Tax Audits conducted by SARS.
  • Assist with reporting requirements for the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) and Statistics South Africa.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Communicate with third-party stakeholders such as SARS, FIC, Stats SA, external auditors, and consultants.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders on tax-related issues and resolve complex tax matters.
  • Work closely with the Group Tax team.
  • Calculate and document transfer pricing and thin capitalisation.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements for transfer pricing and thin capitalisation.
  • Collaborate with Group Tax and the Chief Accountant on various tax issues.
  • Monitor thin capitalisation and coordinate on dividend payments and loans.
  • Manage tax-related financial statement items and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with relevant IFRS guidelines and communicate changes to the local business.
  • Assist the Chief Accountant in external audits and finalising Annual Financial Statements.
  • Undertake any additional duties as assigned by your manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Registered Tax Practitioner
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the tax space
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
  • Income Tax Act, 58 of 1962
  • Value-Added Tax Act, 89 of 1991
  • Customs and Excise Act, 91 of 1964
  • Tax Administration Act, 28 of 2011
  • Good understanding of:
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with a focus on tax-related standards
  • Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 38 of 2001
