Job SummaryOur client is looking for a Finance Transaction Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and drive strategic financial decision-making. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and analytical skills to support business growth and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesEnsure quality control and integrity over all financial transactions, compliance, and financial reporting.Review and analyze financial statements, management reports, and balance sheet items.Oversee month-end and year-end financial close procedures.Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial planning activities.Handle taxation calculations and submissions (Income, Provisional & Deferred) to SARS.Lead and manage financial audits, insurance policies, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Develop and improve internal financial processes and controls.Oversee creditor payments, reconciliations, and budget processes.Provide strategic input on financial results and reporting for directors and stakeholders.Manage finance teams, including recruitment, performance reviews, and staff development.Key SkillsStrong people management and leadership skills.High attention to detail with a structured and organized approach.Ability to handle high-volume work, deadlines, and pressure (non-negotiable).Excellent reconciliation skills and financial technical knowledge.Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in financial software (Sage Evolution is a plus).Advanced Excel skills (non-negotiable).Minimum 2 years of experience in the retail sector.Strong understanding of IFRS for SMEs and South African tax regulations.High computer literacy and financial reporting expertise.QualificationsCA (SA) or CIMA with 4+ years post-article experience, ORBCom degree with completed SAICA/SAIPA articles and 6+ years post-article experience in a similar role.Recruitment MattersRecruiter
