Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full accounting functions of the business and assisting the financial manager daily.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Capturing financial information provided by various subsidiaries
- Converting financial information and transactions from a foreign currency to a functional reporting currency
- Performing financial reconciliations, including but not limited to bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Tax computations and co-ordinating information between subsidiaries and tax consultants
- Preparing monthly reports
- Accounting for intra-group transactions and eliminations
- Balancing loans on a group level
- Analysing trends in financial information and conducting follow-ups on variances identified
- Compiling monthly management reports
- Developing period reports for management
- Providing accurate and timeous feedback to queries received from management and other stakeholders
- Assisting with audit requests to complete audits on time
- Preparing budget and financial forecasts
- Keeping up with financial policies, regulations, legislation, IFRS Standards and exchange rate conversions
- BCom Accounting Degree
- 2 years in an accounting role
- Must have worked in a finance department
- Sage Evolution would be ideal
